Finance & Administration Officer

Ms. Alberta Horlu (A.H.)

Alberta Horlu is the Finance and Administrative Officer with WACPS. She is an experienced Social Worker with competence in evaluations, relationship building, critical thinking, empathy, bookkeeping and administration. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Victoria University, Kampala, Uganda attaining a First-class honour. She also has a Diploma in Social Work (distinction) from the same University in Uganda and Stenographer grade II in Secretarial and Administration from Government Secretariat School in Ghana.

Alberta is a founding member and Child counsellor at ‘The OTHERCHILD’ Uganda, a child services provider formed in 2015 which works with children living and working on the streets (Street Children), orphans and highly vulnerable households in Entebbe, Uganda. She has also worked for more than two years at the Centre for Autism intervention in Kampala as a social worker and doubled as Administrative Manager of Ace Vocational Training School in Entebbe, Uganda.

Ms. Horlu joined West Africa Centre for Peace Studies (WACPS) in 2013 as Program Assistant, and took leave for further studies, having returned with a degree, she was promoted to head the Finance & Administration Section of (WACPS).   Currently, she and her colleagues are providing financial and administrative support to colleagues, partners and stakeholders of the organisation
